The only part of the story you need to read to understand the whole of the story is the first half sentence, "Doctors are being sued for creating prescription drug addicts".

On the surface, this is a personal responsibility case. If you go to the doctor and he gives you some little pills to take to "cure" what ails you, as a thinking being with choices you should do a little homework. Take a moment to peel yourself away from reruns of "Dancing With the Stars", and read the fourteen pieces of paper the pharmacist stapled to the bag your little pills came in. If paper isn't your thing, try typing the name of your latest miracle pills into Google, it works, I've seen me do it.

Whatever you do, educate yourself just a little bit. I know it's hard on the three brain cells you have left, but trust me they are "use it or lose it" anyway. If you don't fill some of that grey matter up with something besides song lyrics, they all get soft and the next time you take a shot of Croatian Brandy, you'll kill all the weak ones.

What I'm really getting at here is that everyone needs to be responsible for what they put in their bodies. We've all heard the commercials, "If you laugh when someone tickles you, ask your doctor about "Libtard". (side effects may include: diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, farting, blurred vision, acne, loose stools, erectile dysfunction, heart murmur, restlessness, hair loss, dry skin, a loss in IQ, amputation, or death)". Now, I don't know about you, but when I hear the list of side effects on the TV, I tend to want to just deal with whatever the latest cash cow from a drug company is supposed to cure.

If we take our car to a mechanic for a squeak in the door, and he tells us he'll fix it by putting in a new stereo, we'd probably run, but if your doctor tells you to take one of these little pills three times a day we don't question it. In fact, we stop at the pharmacy on the way back to work, and we really don't care what they cost because the insurance will cover it, and if it makes us sick we just call a lawyer and sue someone.

BUT, that's not really the meat of this story. The part of this story that really intrigues me lies right in this sentence: "They are prescribed to deal with common social and psychological complaints, from exam stress to relationship problems and bereavement."

Look people, there can be no pleasure without pain, no happiness without sadness, no success without failure, no rich without the poor, and no yin without the yang. We are meant to suffer, we (as human beings) need the contrast. Where in these pathetic people's lives were they taught that they should always feel happy, or when they crash their snowboard into a tree it's not supposed to hurt??

If you're going to the doctor to get drugs because you have stress about an exam or you have relationship problems you're already just a recreational drug user, using prescription medication to hide from the consequences of your decisions. If you can't handle the stress of a test, maybe you should drop out of school and get a job sacking groceries at your local grocery store. If your relationship is bad enough that you want to dope yourself up so you can survive it, maybe you should GET OUT!

Accept that you made bad decisions, learn from it, take whatever punishment the world passes along to you, and move on! Maybe next time you won't have rectal cranial inversion and you'll have the opportunity to reap the rewards of making good decisions...

Torqued

Learning to dance

It's been a while since I've been to this place.
<looks>

Yep, still looks like home. :)

I don't really feel like talking about the election or politics, the great SUV uprising seems to have been overtaken by the global warming cult. Is it just me, or does anyone else find it ironic that every time Al Gore goes someplace to speak about global warming, it snows? I really have trouble believing there is an active God in this world, but even I can't help but question my beliefs when Al Gore gets snowed out for the umpteenth time...

I've learned something about myself in a conversation with a friend that I feel like I need to get written down for one reason or the other. We were talking about dogs and the communication between a dog and handler, and as I took a step back (in my mind) and tried to pull some generalities out of the big picture, it dawned on me. The human condition demands that we listen before we speak, we must be students before we can teach, and that we must be able to follow, before we can really lead.

I'll be back....

Perspective...

So many things depend on a person's perspective that I wonder if we all perceive things the same. This is hard to explain, but I'm going to try anyway...

From the time we are born, we are told that when we look at the crayon that has green written on it, it's called green. What I'm trying to wrap my brain around is the possibility that in another person's mind they could be seeing what I call red, yet they have been trained to call it green. We all have different eyes, and no one really knows if my perception of green is the same as another person's perception of green. Really it's possible that I've been stopping at lights that if you were looking through my eyes and translating the signals through my brain, you might drive through. The whole process depends on perspective.

We can take that same concept to taste, sound, or any other sense that the human brain translates from electrical impulses sent by our nerves. This whole perspective thing might explain why people have different favorite colors, or why one person likes broccoli, but another person does not. What if when I eat broccoli, I taste what another person perceives as ice cream, and when that person eats broccoli, they taste what I perceive as pickled beets? That certainly would explain why they wouldn't eat it.

Torqued

The magic store...

Does anyone else not care what happens to Paris "who gives a crap" Hilton?

Why does she make the news? I suppose it's probably because we all know she's filthy rich, and it's fun to watch someone with something to lose, screw up. Hell she might as well get married to Al Gore's son, at least that way they could get a group discount with their lawyer. After the sex video, what more is there to see?

I've often wondered how involved people like that are with politicians. Do you think Hollywood and Washington coordinate their events to keep us looking the wrong direction? Think about it, Al Gore's global warming concerts are tanking miserably. So in order to work a little slight of hand magic, he sends Al Gore Jr to get busted for pot (drug light) so we'll all feel sorry for his family problems. The media spends a whole week talking about the bust, the cops role, the rehab, and the pressure this puts on Al and Fifi (or whatever her name is).

I just can't figure out which party Paris is tied into. Her little jail fiasco coincided quite nicely with the Illegal Amnesty bill our elected representatives tried to ram down our throats a few weeks ago. It's really sad that we allow them to use race and class warfare on us so effectively. There were hundreds of stories about how the rich white girl was going to get away with not doing her time, and if she were black, or poor, or both, she would be locked up blah, blah, blah...

If the media isn't getting the job done distracting us, they call up the Reverend Jesse "extortion" Jackson and the Reverend Al "race baiter" Sharpton to stir the pot. What church do those two media hounds preach in anyway?

While we're all arguing over the crumbs of our society, Washington is busy trying to sell the country to Mexico. I still can't believe that GW wanted to sign the bill that would dissolve this country, on Independence Day. I wonder how the history books would have written that little piece of irony?

If cinco de Mayo is Mexican independence day, what were they going to call July 4th?? I suppose after they renamed the country the United States of Mexico, Coors would still need a holiday in July to sell beer to the Mexicans. They could just chrome plate the Washington monument and rename it the "Silver Bullet".

Maybe tomorrow I'll try something a little lighter...
Torqued

Independence Day...

July fourth is right around the corner, Independence Day. The skies will be full of fireworks, the lakes full of boaters, backyards full of barbecue and beer, and parades all celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. We throw around words like “independence” “liberty”, and “freedom”. Ask almost any American and they'll tell you “it's a free Country”, but are we really a free people?

Freedom is a word we throw around almost daily in this country, but have any of you thought about what it meant to be free? The dictionary defines freedom as: the state of being free; exemption from external control, interference, regulation; the power to determine action without restraint. Most of you probably think those definitions fit your lives fairly well, but do they really?I'd like to believe that we live in a free country, but more and more our freedoms are being eroded, and sadly the citizens of this country give those rights away so easily that it makes me believe that most don't truly want freedom.

Freedom is something that only a society based on personal responsibility can have. Personal responsibility is what makes people save for their retirement. Personal responsibility is the thing that causes people to save or get insurance to cover their health needs. It's the thing that causes people to put shampoo on the outside of their bodies, and to not use electrical appliances in the shower. It's the thing that puts a man on trial for murder instead of his gun.

Freedom would be allowing people to send their kids to whatever school they thought would best teach their children, it would be allowing their children to pray to whatever god they chose in those same schools. Freedom would be not getting a ticket for failure to wear your seatbelt. Freedom would be having the choice to not spay and neuter your pet, or to choose how many pets you owned.

No folks, the reality is that we are not free because we don't want the responsibility for our actions. Instead of working hard and saving money, we would rather the government take care of us in retirement and supply us with health care. We'd prefer that the government educate our children and teach them right from wrong instead of doing it ourselves. We want the government to give us a false sense of security by giving us a number to call in case of an emergency, instead of protecting our property and family. We want the productive to pay more in taxes so the unproductive can remain unproductive.

Freedom has a cost, and that cost is personal responsibility. Over the last one hundred years we've lost a lot of our responsibilities, we've given them to others to take care of so we aren't burdened with them, but along with those responsibilities we gave away our freedoms. So this fourth of July while the fireworks are going off and the burgers are burning, remember the Bill of Rights, remember the Constitution, and remember the reasons the founders of this country declared independence from the government that ruled them.

If we aren't willing to be responsible for our persons to gain our freedom from the countless regulations that our government has put in place to protect us from ourselves, we might as well call July fourth Hypocrites day, the day we say we are free, but aren't willing to be responsible enough to deal with freedom.

Torqued.

WTF...

http://www.charlotte.com/118/story/174578.html

Here we have a guy who has been convicted of murder. He's already tried twice, obviously he needs a little help to even do that right...

Torqued

Immigration bill still kicking...

In Iraq when people cross the border to commit crimes against the country we call them insurgents and shoot them.

In America when people cross the border to commit crimes against the country we call them immigrants, give them health care, welfare, subsidized housing, social security, and citizenship to them and their families.

Is there any question as to why we are mad?

Torqued

This ain't rocket surgery...

Once again our elected officials are doing their best to pass the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill. Forget the fact that the media has been telling us in one story that the bill is dead, and in the next story how it's been resurrected. Obviously congress thinks we're all stupid, if something is dead, it's dead. Dead things don't just hop up out of their coffins and run a marathon, but that's what they want us to believe happens in the magical fairy land that is the US Congress.

I guess I'm just not smart enough to figure out how this bill is good for America. I know it says "immigration reform", and that most people look at the word "reform" and think "better" (or "more gooder" if you went to public school), but I don't see it that way. If your car gets run over by a monster truck, it's reformed, but is that a good reform? If I run you through a wood chipper, you've been reformed, but would you call that a good reform?

Let's just look at one item in this bill and see what we can make out of it. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a calculator. There were only about 350 million people in this country at the time of the last census. I've heard estimates of somewhere between twelve and thirty million illegal invaders are actually in our country. If we allow each one of them to bring in 11 of their family, that's somewhere in the range of 144-360 million instant voters. If we import that many instant voters, we've basically brought in a new majority that will run this country (and those of us here) as they see fit.

I've heard people say that the illegals are here to do jobs Americans won't do, but who do you think is going to be picking lettuce when they are the majority? Do you think they'll continue to take the lowest paying jobs when they have the political power to vote the rest of us into servitude? Nope, the current American citizens will be the ones working two or three jobs so we can pay enough taxes to support the new majority.

If that bill passes, we'll have been taken over by Mexico without a shot being fired.

Ponder that
Torqued

What ever happened to "live free or die"??

Alright, I've done a little looking around about the erosion of the second amendment, and I've come to some interesting conclusions. So let's get started.

In 1791 the bill of rights was ratified. In case you've forgotten the second amendment reads, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

In 1837 Georgia passes a law banning handguns, but it was ruled unconstitutional and thrown out.

1850's several states pass laws to stop slaves from bearing arms.

1861-1865 The Civil War.

In 1865 several southern states adopt “black codes” that forbid blacks from possessing firearms, in response to emancipation.

The gun control movement started in 1837 as a way to keep slaves from bearing arms. When that law was ruled unconstitutional, the slaveholders changed tactics to ban blacks from having guns of any kind. Then when it looked like the “elite” could no longer prohibit blacks (slaves/former slaves) from gaining freedom, the south seceded from the union starting the civil war. Well, they lost the war, but after emancipation the south managed to continue to control their slaves with the black codes of 1865, which prohibited blacks from possessing firearms.

The person with common sense would have no problem figuring out that when one group wants to control another, they take away the guns. That's something to think about. Let's continue.

The NRA was organized in 1871 with the primary goal of improving American civilians' marksmanship in preparation for war.

1920 Prohibition

1927 Congress passes a law banning the mailing on concealable weapons.

1929 the great depression starts and hits bottom in 1933.

1933 Prohibition repealed.

1934 The National Firearms Act of 1934 regulating only fully automatic firearms is approved by Congress.

The Federal Firearms act of 1938 places the first limits on the selling of firearms, requiring a Federal Firearms license to maintain records of the names and addresses of the people who bought guns. Gun sales to people with violent felonies, are prohibited.

The early 1900's brought on a second front in the war on our freedoms with prohibition. Ironically this is also the beginning of blaming objects for the things people do with them. Instead of blaming people for abusing alcohol, we banned alcohol in 1920. Instead of controlling alcohol abuse and drunkenness, we turned the average American into a criminal. In response to all the criminal activity the government did what they could to suppress the rebellion by banning the mailing of concealable weapons (which they could do, without bringing the second amendment into play).

Then came the Great Depression and the New Deal. The great depression put Americans on the ropes and allowed the New Deal to start us down the road to socialism. Once a portion of Americans started relying on the Government for food and their income, all that was needed to control the outlaws of America was to disarm them.

In a brilliant political move, one form of bondage was traded for another when in 1933 prohibition was repealed, and while everyone was celebrating, the National Firearms act of 1934 was passed banning fully automatic weapons. The first step to erode the second amendment was taken.

In 1938, the Federal Firearms act was put in place. This act required a Federal Firearms license to sell guns. Part of the requirements of keeping the license were that the seller had to keep the name and address of the buyer. Within just a few decades, the government not only had superior weapons to to the public, but new the names and addresses of almost every American that owned a gun.

The gun control movement rested for thirty years. In 1963 President John F Kennedy was assassinated and the gun control movement focused the population on the regulation of firearms. The bill championed by Democrat Senator Thomas J Dodd was supported by the NRA (ironically), and focused mostly on the mail order purchasing of handguns, even though JFK was killed by a mail order rifle. The bill was held up in the commerce committee and was not allowed out onto the senate floor. In 1964 urban riots in America started as a result of poverty and inequality.

1965 brought us President Johnson, who aggressively endorsed gun control as a way to control crime. His efforts were suffered three years of defeats through the lobbying efforts of the now opposed NRA, congressional leaders who supported them, the American Legion, and gun importers.

1968 President Johnson intensified the push for gun control once again, pushing the bill as an anti-crime bill called the Safe Streets and Crime Control Bill that required national registration of every gun in America, and licenses for all gun owners. The version that made it to the President's desk was watered down and excluded rifles and shotguns from any regulations.

Johnson signed this bill into law the day after the assassination of Robert F Kennedy in 1968. The American public had been led into the pen, and the gate closed. The second amendment had truly been breeched. The American public had been sold the lie that gun control leads to crime control.

Now if you're into conspiracy theories, you take the assassination of JFK and make it a government job to start the ball rolling on gun control. Then introduce a bunch of recreational drugs, and start some riots to soften up the public. Then with the assassination of MLK and Robert Kennedy, you have the public begging for their rights to be taken away. The watered down version of the gun control bill passed in the summer of 1968, and the supreme court gives it the nod while no one's looking. Once you have precedent in place, the stronger version, The Gun Control Act of 1968, was pushed through in October of 1968.

Not only is the government slowly disarming the American public, but they have citizen groups rushing to support the cause. Every time there is a national news worthy crime committed with a firearm the gun control nuts use the publicity to push another piece of legislation down the pipe.

Fast forward to 2007. The Virginia Tech massacre takes place in an environment where no guns are allowed. The anti-gun movement makes a push to try to further ban guns, but most in the general public can see that if some of the teachers or students were armed, they could have stopped the mentally ill man who shot up all their children. Not being able to admit that their movement is flawed, the conversation was turned toward more government regulation with the argument "mentally ill persons shouldn't have firearms". Most sane people if asked would agree that people who are mentally ill shouldn't have guns. There is public outcry to take away our rights further, but what the ignorant American public doesn't know is that the Gun Control act of 1968 already bans the sale of guns to mentally ill people.

Another nail in the coffin of a free America has been driven home. The second amendment is dead they just haven't buried the body yet.

"An armed man is a citizen, and unarmed man is a subject."
"Gun control is not about guns, it's about control."

I have no idea who said that, but I have to agree.

Torqued

Forget gun control, we need SUV control...

4 Teens Killed After SUV Crashes Into Train

6:41 a.m. CDT June 14, 2007

BAYTOWN, Texas - Four teenagers were killed and two others were injured after a sport utility vehicle crashed into a train on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported. Harris County sheriff's deputies said the wreck happened just west of Baytown on East Archer Road near Fleming Drive at about 4:30 a.m.

Do you ever read the news and believe what you read? Personally I find it hard to take anything at face value, and this article is a prime example of how in order to get the news you have to read between the lines.

Whoever wrote the story would like you to believe that this SUV started itself up, and ran away from it's yuppie, global warming contributing family, and drove around town until it found the most innocent victim it could find. Somehow, the SUV must have herded the four unsuspecting teens into a tight pattern, and then smashed them into a train that was not moving. I suppose we're to assume that it used it's powerful headlights to hypnotize the teens with it's "deer in the headlights" trance. Give me a break.

The media in this country is so hung up on sensationalism that they are no longer reporting the news, but are twisting it so it sounds as exciting as possible. All the while trying to condition people to think that guns and SUVs are bad inanimate objects that are lurking around every corner just waiting to assault unsuspecting citizens.

The real story should read:

Justice Served

BAYTOWN, Texas - Four teenage car thieves got what they deserved when they stole a Jeep Cherokee from an unsuspecting working class family. The teens stole the SUV out of the driveway of Mr and Mrs Jones who both work 60 hours a week to pay their mortgage and taxes. When their SUV was stolen and wrecked, their insurance company told them their policy doesn't cover underage drivers and that they would be responsible for not only the value of the vehicle that they use to get to their jobs, but they needed to pay the railroad for damages to the train car the thugs smashed into.

Mr Jones is trying to find a second job, but doesn't speak Spanish. He's put applications in at every fast food restaurant in town, but has been turned down since he's overqualified. Mrs Jones has taken a job as a dancer at the local strip club to make ends meet.

I'm sure if you're on enough drugs you might think someone's gun jumped out of it's case and shot it's owner three times, or that a cars start themselves up, back themselves out of their driveways, and run people down on the streets. For those of us living in reality we know that people are responsible for those actions. The real victims in these stories are the people who get their rights taken away, or who take big financial hits so that criminals can be victims.

I suppose next we're going to start suing fast food restaurants for making people fat.

Torqued

Gun shoots woman...

Adams was lying in bed when a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson she kept under her pillow discharged and struck her in her left wrist, Dougherty County Police Chief Don Cheek said.

I know, I know, I couldn't believe it either, but it's right there in black and white. It's even a quote from the Police Chief himself. She was sleeping with the gun hiding under the pillow, and at sometime in the middle of the night, Officer Adams was brutally assaulted when the gun pulled it's trigger and shot her in the wrist.

Now personally I cannot believe a gun would do such a thing. Normally they're real peaceful creatures who wouldn't hurt a fly. That particular gun must have been raised to be violent, after all, it's all how you raise them. The story didn't say if the gun had been abused, but I'm sure all of that will come out in the civil suit.

All we can hope now is that the gun wasn't part of an Al-Quaeda sleeper cell.

Torqued

Hmmm....

So, I pull into a gas station today to fill up with three dollar a gallon gas, which reminds me, if the Iraq war is about oil, where's my cheap gas? Am I the only one that sees this? People are protesting "no war for oil", "we're trading soldiers for oil" etc... but yet gas prices still keep climbing. At this point I'm calling B.S. If the war was really about oil, wouldn't a gallon of gas get cheaper as we're stealing more oil from the Iraqis?? That's not the real reason for this post though....

So, I pull into the gas station to fill up with three dollar a gallon gas. I remove my gas cap, grab the filler, push the button for the arm and a leg grade, and nothing happens. I know what you're thinking, "Torqued, you gotta go inside and pay before you pump", and I know that, but why do I have to pay before I pump? Why can't we trust people not to pump and run?

First off, if I pump $100 worth of gas and drive off without paying, isn't that a crime? I know every one of these convenience stores has thousands of dollars worth of security equipment. They also have at least two people in the store holding up the counter or standing around in the cooler, why don't you fire one of those slackers and hire someone to watch the security cameras, and cross reference the reciepts with the license plates of the cars who pull up to the pumps? Surely you can find someone in America qualified to watch a TV.

Now once you've got your illegal immigrant to figure out who stole your gas, call the cops. It's their job to find criminals, right? Well, obviously they must be too busy handing out seat belt tickets, and harrasing people who park in a spot too long, to waste time protecting and serving the population of thier beat. After all, those things bring revenue into the city. Last time I checked, cities make their money off taxes to their citizens. SO if we follow that line of thinking, most cops are nothing more than tax collectors.

I'll get off the cops for now. Let's look at this whole pay before you pump from a business standpoint. Supposedly, all the real profit at a gas station comes from the drinks and snacks that people who purchase gas also pick up while they are at your store. Now, if I pay in cash, I have to come into the store to do it. So that makes good business sense, right? Make everyone there come inside to pay for their gas, so they'll be tempted to buy the high profit items. Sounds reasonable.

BUT, if I pay with a credit card, I can pay at the pump, which eliminates my chance to binge shop inside the store on high profit items. Now where this gets really messed up is credit card companies charge venders a percentage of the purchase, along with transaction fee everytime you swipe a card. So if I buy ten dollars worth of gas with a credit card it's really only worth about nine dollars and seventy cents to the business.

So these rocket surgeons have figured out a way to make it convenient for the customers who cost them the most money in fees, to not only bypass the real profit center of a gas station, but to punish the guy who is paying with cash by making him do the walk of shame into the store to stand in line to give them cash so they'll turn on the pump, so he can walk back in the store, and stand in line again to get the change.

I know what you're thinking, the cash customer costs the owner man hours because the pothead behind the counter has to figure out how to make the change, but if you think about it, the employees are almost always paid by the hour. That slacker is going to get paid if he's making change or not...

I just can't believe that cash paying American people haven't lost their mind about this type of discrimination. Cash descrimination, I'm calling my lawyer.

Torqued

Survey Says...

Politicians worry a lot about their approval rating, or what this poll said or that one, so how is it that they can be so out of touch with the American public? I thought about this exact question and then it dawned on me that all the polls and surveys they do are over the phone. Well, I haven't had a land line for years, and when I did, I treated the people who called when I was trying to eat like they had the plague.

So who is answering these surveys? Well first it has to be people with a regular phone. Then those people can't screen their phone calls, or have an answering machine. The people answering the pollsters also have to be people willing to spend thirty or more minutes of their day, while their dinner is getting cold, and their wife is giving them the evil eye, to answer the same question reworded over and over.

Those requisites excludes a huge majority of the population of the United States, like anyone younger than forty, or anyone with a job. It also wipes out people who have hobbies, and people who are working a second job. It probably eliminates most parents, and those of us who hunt or fish.

The people left to answer the pollster's daily probings end up being my grandmother, the houseful of illegal immigrants down the street, the lifer welfare recipients, my retarded neighbor, oh, and Paris Hilton home on house arrest. No wonder our government thinks we want public health care, a bunch of illegal immigrants, and increased taxes.

If they really want to get the pulse of the American public, they should send the survey out with my IRS forms, with $100 deductible if I fill it out and send it in. They'd get opinions from the people paying the bills at least, and at the time they payed them.

Torqued

Feedback...

                    Anonymous said...

Great idea about the American Idol debate format. With the text voting we would probably get a better turn out than we do with our current elections. At least with Simmon hosting the debate, you might actually get some honest feed back....

Simmon: "That answer was pathetic! You didn't even come close to answering that question"

June 7, 2007 3:56 PM

I was actually thinking maybe we should do it like a game show. When the one party has their little debate amongst themselves, we could structure it like Jeopardy. Make them pick the category, and all of them have to write down their little answer. "what is, send the invaders home". We could condense three hours of grandstanding into a 20 minute show.

Torqued

Gun control...

"Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Why do we need all these debates? If any of those politicians had real beliefs (instead of talking points) we could have one debate a month before the election, and the American public could be spared the dog and pony show.

Really, the whole thing reminded me of the Miss America pageant. I imagine all the candidates lined up on a stage wearing evening gowns and sashes. They ask a lot of leading questions that the contestants already had someone write their answer to (why do you think actors make good politicians??), and then each of the pageant contestants talks for five minutes and never answers the question. OH, and they all want world peace.

You can tell the debates were about nothing because the media didn't talk about the issues discussed, but talked about who had the best hair, who spit out the best canned joke, or what their facial expressions were. How dumb are we, that we can't focus on WHAT our politicians say instead of HOW they say it?

Another thing that really bothers me is that half of the people running for President are currently Senators, and they still have the gall to use the phrase “If I were President I'd do....”. Hello, you're already a part of the legislative branch, if you want something to happen, all you have to do is introduce the bill. Actions speak louder than words, yet half of our candidates have spent the last 4+ years in a position to enact change, and none of them have done any of the things they say they would do if they were in a position that they couldn't do them.

Anyone who is a current Senator or Representative should be smart enough not to run for President. The legislative branch puts the bills together, the President only signs them (or doesn't). If change is going to happen it's going to come from the places these people are, already. How do they get away with telling us they'd do this or that, when they've been in a position to do something for a long time and nothing has been done?

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised, with public schooling the way it is, most of America probably thinks the President does everything and the Senators and Representatives jobs are to lean on shovels and tell the president what he's doing wrong. We treat elections like American Idol, all that's lacking is texting in our votes. Maybe we can get Simon, Paula, and Randy to do the next debate and instead of having questions we'll just cut to the chase and have a hair competition, a teleprompter reading contest, and then maybe we can bring out each contestant's writer to explain why they thing their candidate is better than the others. At least then we'd be getting our canned jokes from the horse's mouth.

Senators: Mr President, we forgot to bring the shovels to this legislative session.

President: Well, just lean on each other until I get there then.

Later

Torqued

Hillary in the news...

Well Bill Clinton's wife just announced that she's running for president of the United Socialist Agenda. I guess they seem so obvious to me that I don't take the time to explain how I would get from where we are to where we're going.

The first thing we have to do is secure our borders. You wouldn't build a multi-million dollar mansion and not put a front door on it, but that's exactly what we've done with our country. We have the greatest country in the world and we just leave the door off, so anyone in the world can just walk in and have their way with the place. Not only do we let them in, we pay them to do it. How dumb would you look if you were in your multi-million dollar mansion, some homeless guy walks in your front door, you hand him $100, cook his meals, cloth him, pay for all the utilities, and when he leaves after a couple years carrying an arm full of your possessions you thank him for saving you two bucks on your lawn. That is exactly what we are doing. Good fences make good neighbors.

Once we get the locks on the doors, then we can work on cleaning the rats out of our cabinets. Anyone who is not a citizen of this country needs to get out. The last estimate I heard was that twelve million illegal boarder crossing burglars are in our country, the real number is probably closer to twenty million. Our government tells us they can't deport them all, but that's an outright lie. If we can ship 200,000 troops with all their gear and vehicles half way around the world in a few months, I'm sure there's a simple solution tossing out a few million “undocumented workers”. If nothing else, hire them to build the fence, then when the fence is done, hand them a bill from the IRS, walk them at gunpoint to the other side. They're here to be cheap labor after all, there's your guest worker program in action.

While we're cleaning up, we can implement the next step in my plan, which is to get rid of all the socialist programs we've burdened the taxpayers with. No where in the Constitution does it say the federal government's job is to take money from one group of people at gunpoint and give it to another group of people. If there are people who actually need assistance, they can get it from family, friends, and neighbors. Once the social programs are gone, and we're done standing on bridges waiting for big brother to come save us, we'll have to learn to be responsible for ourselves and our community. The churches can repay two hundred years of not having to pay taxes, by organizing America's good will toward our fellow man. How much better would we all feel about helping someone out, if we could make the decision on our own to do it, instead of having the IRS collect our charity from our paychecks?

Remember all those “jobs that Americans won't do” that we needed all those illegal aliens for? I know a bunch of government workers and ex-welfare recipients who are going to need those jobs. By dumping half the budget, we can cut taxes in half, and once you lower the tax burden on our economy, our businesses will once again become competitive in the world market. Instead of sending all our wages to China so they can supply us with throw away products, we'll be paying our own population to make the things we buy. We'll do it cleaner, faster, and better than the rest of the world because we'll have to in order to compete with other American companies. We'll then be in a position to export our surpluses to the rest of the world.

With the increased security and the positive business environment, we'll be in a position to implement a guest worker program of some kind or increase the number of immigrants we allow to become American citizens, but this time it will be on our terms with our rules. One of the rules should be that the person wanting to come here will have to maintain employment. We can control minimum wages by the amount of people in our country. We get too much labor (driving the prices down) we ship back the “guests”. It's simple supply and demand.

Now that we've straightened out our economy, and the immediate threat of terrorists walking into our nation, we can work on some of the problems at home. I don't have a problem with public schools in general, the problem comes from the teacher's unions, and the way we allocate money. First, the money we pay for public education needs to follow the child, and the parents should be free to put their kids in the school that does the best job of educating their kids. The only thing left to do is pay teachers on merit, good teachers should earn more money than average teachers, and poor teachers should find another career. Kids that fail to meet the standards for behavior need to be held responsible for their poor performance with real consequences like being held back a grade, mandatory summer school, or some other real consequence. Peer pressure works, let's use it to our advantage. A similar situation is already in place in our universities, and students from all over the world come here for an American education.

The last thing we need to do is put a bunch of lawyers out of work. We've already got a good start on that project by eliminating half the federal government (and probably two thirds of the laws), but we need to take it a step further and make our court system “loser pays”. This means if you sue someone because you spill a cup of coffee in your lap, and you lose, you not only have to pay your lawyer, but you'll also be responsible for the winner's defense, and the court costs. If that doesn't eliminate all the warning labels on products, we can also put a limit on the amount of damages that can be paid. No more free rides for dumb people. We need to let natural selection do a little work on the human race.

So what have we done? Well, we've provided for our security, removed parasites, improved our productivity, and invested in our future. We've streamlined the government, put in place an environment to educate our children, and put a bunch of ambulance chasers out of business. I think we've got a pretty good start.

The pickle...

I'm in quite a mental pickle here lately. I feel almost conflicted about my intent, like I'm living two lives. I'm working hard positioning myself for the future. I'm invested in long term projects at work and in my personal life. There are things I've done that I can't possibly reap rewards from for five or ten years, and to top it all off, I even got a new puppy that I will be responsible for well into my forties.

The other half of me has been watching the country slip into complacency. We live in a representative republic, that is run like a democracy. Our representatives on a daily basis stick their finger in the air and see which way the wind is blowing so they know how to vote. The net result is the mainstream media has become the most powerful branch in our government. I can hear it now, “but Torqued, the media isn't a branch of the government”, and that is true in a literal sense. Consider this though, the media has only to sensationalize an issue, enrage people's emotions about a topic, and the polls change. The politicians, check the polls and determine which side of an issue they better stand on to best insure their reelection. The silent majority gets out polled by the noisy minority.

Let's look at the issue of immigration, there are 300 million people in this country, 100 million classified as minorities. I can think of no reason the majority of 300 million people would want to pay twice as much tax so that a group of people could come in and take their jobs, commit crimes against them, clog up their roads, and bankrupt their emergency rooms. If you asked anyone on the street if they wanted a new government program where every citizen would have to pay for someone else's health care, food, and housing, I think the overwhelming answer would be a loud “Hell NO!”. Now throw in the mix that the person they are paying benefits for also takes their job, robs their house, and wrecks their car with no repercussions, and how many of that 300 million would vote for a program like that??

There are several groups of people who would support that plan. Socialists and communists are at the head of the line, taking from the rich and giving to the poor, and requiring their subjects to rely on the government for everything from health care to food. Today our representatives feel that the people they represent want a program just like that. So does that mean we are being governed by legislature and President who are socialists and communists?? On the surface it appears that way, but what is really happening is our media is full of socialists and communists, and they are structuring their reporting to cause our representatives to vote us out of freedom. Nope, common sense no longer runs America, instead we do as we're told, we get passionate about the things the media tells us to, and we pay tax on taxes so we can import poverty from a third world country.

Oh, but the media is not the only bad guy in this tale. In almost any mystery the best way to find the source of a problem is to follow the money. So if we let dollar signs lead us to who benefits from allowing millions of illegal immigrants into this country there is another short list of people who also gain from the fresh meat. The liberal talk show hosts claim it's “big business” who has the most to gain, the pseudo conservative talk shows all claim the Democrats want amnesty for a new class of voters who will most likely vote Democrat. Big business is a possibility, but they are also the same group who pays the largest chunk to the government. Property taxes pay for the increased load on the schools, increased health care premiums pay for people without health care, and federal taxes pay for the rest of the cost of the working poor. They may save a buck on wages, but they then give those savings to the government in the form of taxes. If big business is using illegals to increase profits, it's a short sighted strategy at best.

The Democrats might be behind the big push, but let's be honest, they are just puppets for the unions. Plus, most of them are only really concerned with what affects them. Coming up with and implementing a plan this large while keeping the American public from figuring it all out takes more thought and planning than most politicians are capable of. Remember, these are the people who flip flop on some pretty basic issues daily. The truth of the matter is, our best and brightest aren't the people who run for office.

Following that train of thought, a good place to look might be at the unions themselves. The teacher's union probably has the most to gain. Increases in students means increases in teachers, which leads to larger unions and more dues coming in. The labor unions have priced themselves out of many markets (automobiles, steel, meat packing, etc...) an influx of cheaper labor would allow them the adjustment in the market they need to bring back their popularity and the power they crave. The unions themselves don't pay any real taxes or benefits, so there isn't much of a downside.

There is one other group who would stand to benefit financially from a large migration from Mexico without having an increased tax burden, and that is organized religion. Let's see, Christianity in this country has taken some pretty big hits in the last couple decades. The Atheists have done better job of twisting the meaning of the first amendment from freedom of religion, to separation of church and state than the Christians have done defending their right to their religion. Add in the scandals with the televangelists shaking down the elderly, the child molester priests, and the Pope insulting (and then backing down from) the Muslims, and you've got a group on the ropes getting pummeled. The fastest way to gain a bunch of ground in this country would be for them to import a group of ready made church goers. If you toss in the fact that Christians are being out bred by Muslims in every developed country, the anti-birth control Hispanics are a perfect fix for the church. The icing on the cake is by forcing the middle class in this country to subsidize an increasing welfare population, more of them fall back to religion for support and hope. It's a winning situation all the way around.

I know, you're going to ask me how the church can push this issue in the government with the separation of church and state. Well that's easy, the church enacts legislation just like the media. They hop up on their soapbox and preach hot button issues that will cause the fence walkers in their flock to vote the way they want them to vote. It's really that easy, when you want a republican voted in, you bring the pro-life movement to the surface, and when you need a democrat put in place you bring up the less fortunate who need help to keep from starving.

Why did I drag all these people through the political mud? Mostly just to prove the point that we are all guilty of electing liars and crooks into office for our own selfish reasons. We are leading ourselves down a path that none of us would follow if we were independent thinkers.

What few have seen and even fewer have spoke of is the balance of a democracy. The turning point in every democracy is when more than half of the population is dependent on the government for their survival. All that is left to happen is for the majority to figure out that they can vote themselves more money and benefits from the minority that actually create wealth, effectively turning them into slaves. Big government and social services are the equivalent of parasites feeding on a capitalist animal. When the parasitic load becomes to great for the animal to overcome, the animal dies. In the case of the United States, when you kill the capitalist animal, you effectively kill the republic.

History has a habit of repeating itself, and I do believe in the near future the parasites of this country will put such a burden on the people creating wealth for the country that we will be left with only one choice. The founding fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence: “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

Yep, we're talking about a revolution, another tax revolution to be exact. When the people who pay taxes feel like they don't have a voice in their government (taxation without representation), the revolution will begin. The balance of democracy has been reached, and if an amnesty program is allowed to pass we'll be headed down that slope at a much faster clip as the politicians buy votes with our treasury.

This leads me right back to my pickle. I'm living my life planning for what has been the norm in America for the last one hundred years or so, all the while I can see the roadblock and the right turn that takes this country down a different path. I'm left here conflicted. Hoping my senses are off, my view of the world twisted, and my logic flawed. I feel like an ostrich with his head in the sand, hiding from what I see as the inevitable conclusion to the American dream. I can see flashbacks of my childhood trying to explain to my mother, “but mom, everyone else was doing it” and her response of, “if everyone jumped off a cliff would you do that too?”.

I guess I would...

Call Forwarding put to good use....

Ring....

Ring....

"You've reached the office of Torqued, for English please press 1."

"For deportation, please press 2"

click...

Ring...

Ring...

"You've reached the office of Torqued, for English please press 1."

"Para la deportación presionar por favor el número 2"

click....

Ring...

Ring...

"You've reached the office of Torqued, for English please press 1."

"For welfare benefits please press 2"

(tone of the 2 button being pressed)

"Please hold while we connect you to 1-866-DHS-2-ICE"

Dear President Bush...

I don't normally spend by time writing letters to politicians, in fact this is my first. I have a wife, a mortgage, and a career that I spend fifty plus hours a week working in order to earn a living. My wife also has a job that she pours over full time to help out. We pay our bills on time, pay our taxes, and maintain insurance on our property and automobiles. I'm not looking for a handout and wouldn't take one if offered.

I voted for you in 2000 because I felt you represented people like myself better than Mr. Gore. I still believe I was right about that. In 2001 when the World Trade Center Towers fell you told the public that we were going to fight the terrorists. I supported (and still support) the idea of fighting (rather than surrendering to) the people who attack this country. The truth of the matter is, America has lost the will to be a free country.

We are being invaded by Mexico, and the United States government has surrendered without a shot being fired. These people are criminals in our country pillaging the citizens at will. I am terrorized every day on the streets of America worrying about being in a car accident with an illegal who not only doesn't have a driver's license, but isn't required to have insurance on his vehicle. They terrorize the people around me by taking jobs at less than the going rate, and making up the difference by using welfare programs paid for with tax dollars, paid by the people they took the jobs from. If I didn't pay my taxes, the Government you are the head of would do everything in their power to punish me, but if a Mexican national illegally crosses our border, illegally takes our jobs, illegally votes in our elections, and illegally breaks the laws the citizens of this country have to follow, you do nothing. Please explain to me why we can't secure our borders and deport the people who have invaded our country? You made a promise to fight the terrorists, please be a man of your word and fight the people who terrorize the citizens of this country everyday.

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Remember those words you spoke with your hand on a bible? You swore an oath to God and all of the citizens of the United States of America to “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”.

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

If we are unable to enforce the laws we have now, how do you expect any thinking American to believe that the US Government can and will enforce your “comprehensive immigration reform”? We all know this is just another pacifier in the mouths of the American public placed there by people without enough spine to do the right thing. If you really cared about America, you'd ship the criminals back to their own country, and force their President to do something to help his own people instead of passing his problems to us.

Sincerely,

A country united...

Even though it seems most have forgotten, September 11th 2001 happened. On that day the enemy of freedom used the foundation of our society as a weapon against us. Those Islamic terrorists came to the land of opportunity and blended into our towns and suburbs. They had cars, jobs, and homes and even appeared to be chasing the American dream by taking flying lessons. They took advantage of our generosity and trust.

Shortly after the World Trade Center buildings fell, our lawmakers were dedicated to the task of crushing the enemy of the American way. They drafted resolutions for war with overwhelming support from both sides of the isle. They used the media to convey our intent to dismantle any country or group who harbors or supports terrorism. The American public got on board and called a truce in the war on ourselves. For a brief moment blacks, whites, Hispanics, republicans, democrats, Christians, Jews, Atheists, gays and straights were all on one team. The American flag was proudly flown on businesses and homes all over the country, and there was an overwhelming sense of Patriotism everywhere you went. For once in my lifetime America was united.

The unity born of that tragedy was aborted by some of the same politicians who led in the delivery of it's birth. With the next election approaching, the democrats figured out that a country united under a republican commander in chief was not going to be open to a change of the status quo. In order to win back power, they needed the old America back. As the troops headed out to fight the enemy of America, the politicians spent their time turning Americans into enemies again. They rolled out their media army and fought battles with stories of racism and class warfare. As the Presidential election approached, they instituted a troop surge and used the lack of WMD's in Iraq to mark President Bush as a liar. This opened the door for them to back out of their vote for the war in Iraq, and become invested in our defeat.

The next election cycle provided the victory they craved in the war. The American people, blinded by the fog of war at home, desired a change and voted in a democrat congress. All the dem's counterintelligence and misinformation had proven the weapon needed to thoroughly defeat patriotism and unity in America.

So where does that leave us today? The democrats have become allies of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda against the “evil” republicans. They've given aid and comfort to the enemies of America, by telling them our resolve is fading, we can't handle the casualties, and we'd rather cut and run than stand in Iraq and fight.

Oh, I know, they claim they support the troops (just not the war), but let's look at their actions. Instead of supporting our troops by telling the enemy we are coming to get you, and we won't stop until you're all dead, they say “the war is lost”. Instead of standing in support of the victims of September 11th by they insist the commander in chief of the armed forces is the enemy. Instead of standing by the decisions our troops make in the field under duress, they put them on trial and drag them through the media. Instead of providing the funding our troops need to keep up the fight, they sent a bill to the President that not only forces our troops to surrender, but they added so much pork to it that I'm surprised they didn't have to get a wide load permit to take it down the hall.

I suppose I should be in shock over this whole situation, but I'm not. I know that in America we buy big four wheel drive vehicles that never get off the pavement, we buy motorcycles that will go 200mph that we never drive above 80, and we buy dogs bred for hunting that we never let out of the backyard. So it's really no surprise to me that when we have the most capable armed forces on the face of earth, we make them surrender.

Both political parties in this country are the equivalent of ordinary street magicians, one distracts you with fancy hand gestures while the other steals your wallet, and as long as they pull a rabbit out of the hat, we keep getting in line for the show.

In the news today....

"By Kerstin Gehmlich
PARIS (Reuters) - Socialist opponent Segolene Royal said on Friday that France risks violence and brutality if her opponent right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy wins Sunday's presidential election."

Let's see, you're Segolene Royal and running for President of France. It's a sport (is it called a sport?) where a bunch of people with too much time on their hands chase a little white ball around a pasture. The landscape is completely man made with little beaches and some oddly shaped ponds to add a “natural” look. It's a true gentleman's activity where you have a dress code, and when someone else is swinging at their ball (that they place on a little pedestal so it's easier to hit) everyone has to be quiet. Winning the game is determined by who gets the lowest score.

The game itself is pretty anti American if you think about it. A bunch of rich guys driving SUVs around what used to be a perfectly good wildlife sanctuary. The greens keeper uses enough chemicals on the grass to turn the water in the ponds a nice shade of swimming pool blue. There's no heckling allowed, and if someone messes up you give them a mulligan. Where's the outcry from the envirowhackos and the bunny huggers? On top of all that who can get behind a game where if you run the score up you lose.

Compare that to the other sports played in this great country, and you'll see fans hollering and waiving distracting objects while a player is shooting a free throw, or attempting to make the game winning field goal. We even teach little leaguers to call out “hey batter batter SWING!!” while the other teams batter is attempting to hit the ball. In America we're pretty much about providing some opposition to our competition, we like our fans loud, and our scores high.

....BUT the blue bloods have some competition. No more goofy plaid pants, funny looking bags and little white balls (no pun intended). Nope, the new snob sport is Disc Golf. The only correlation between the new game and the old is that the goal is still to get the lowest score. The game is played at your public park, instead of a private club. They use Frisbees instead of balls, and instead of the goal being to “get it in the hole”, they throw at some kind of modern art masterpiece made of chain that looks somewhat like an industrial trash can without the can.

Not only is there no dress code in disc golf, but if you're wearing anything more than a wife beater, some cut off jeans, and flip-flops they must not let you on the course. There are no special motorized carts, or tee times, instead you're required to carry around some discs, a cooler full of beer, the makings for a good joint and a couple extra packs of smokes. The best part of the sport is that you don't even have to be a good Frisbee thrower to do well. You get a stroke deducted from your score for every beer you drink, and two for every bong hit. There is a two stroke deduction for hitting someone with a disc, and another if you get other park goers to yell at you for interrupting their activities. Hitting a parked car subtracts one, but if you hit a moving car it gets you two. You get to deduct five strokes if you bring a dog and let him run free, and there's a bonus five stroke deduction if he starts a fight with another dog or pees on someone else's property, but they add a stroke if the dog is current on his vaccinations.

The sport is such a hit, that our local parks department have dedicated 200 of the 230 acres of the park to the activity. They've put up steel cables up just a few feet from the road all through the park, and left the only parking places near the soccer fields and a the start of the three disc golf courses to discourage any of the other citizens from interfering with the play. I'm pretty sure they even signed an agreement that for every tree that's killed by urine, they'd add another hole.

Doctors, Drug dealers, Prostitutes, and Politicians...

I've been to the emergency room a couple times for various stitches and a fresh tetanus booster, but it's been a while since I went to a regular doctor. It's not that I'm afraid to go, it's that every time I go I feel like I'm at one of those time share conventions where they lock you in a little room for hours and you can't escape. At the end of the high pressure sales pitch, they charge you fifty bucks for a crappy dinner, hand you a sack full of brochures, and boot you out the door.

Inevitably, I have an appointment time for a physical, but I'm forced to sit in the waiting room with a bunch of sick people for an hour past my appointment time before they lock me in the little room. The whole time I'm in there, I'm thinking how great it would be if I were in a trade where you can create your own repeat business just by huddling all of your customers in a waiting room to infect one another. If the cell phone companies catch on to this, they'll make you pay your bill using your cell phone, and then put you on hold for a couple hours while you waited for some guy in India to take your credit card information, then charge you for the minutes you used trying to pay for the minutes you used last time. We Americans are just about dumb enough to fall for it too...

Really though, that wasn't the point I was trying to get to. If you go to the doctor for a sore back, he's probably going to take your blood pressure, look in your ears, down your throat, tap on your knees a little, and who knows what other kind of quackery, until he sees you're sufficiently worried enough about your wellbeing. Then the good doctor will tell you your blood pressure is a little high. Well no shit Sherlock, you needed a $500 machine to figure that out. I thought maybe when you looked in my ears you would have noticed the steam billowing out from spending the last two hours waiting on you to come in here. Where did you say you went to school?

OH, and then he doesn't know why you woke up one day and couldn't walk, but he's willing to prescribe you some pain pills so you won't notice that after 10 years going to school, he's still “practicing”. The same thing would happen if you came in with the a cold. Here's some antibiotics. Feeling down? Here's some UP pills. Feeling up? Here's some down pills. I still cant' figure out why it takes so long to be a doctor anyway? Is there a maximum passing golf score or something?

The point I'm trying to make is, do doctors ever fix the problem, or do they just pass out pills to cover up symptoms? If you take your car to the mechanic complaining of a funny noise, would you pay him if he handed you some earplugs? Hell no. Don't get me wrong, if I get shot or some oriental lady drives her car through my living room while I'm watching TV because she can't see over the steering wheel, by all means ship me to a hospital. Most of the time though your general practitioner is nothing more than a government sponsored drug dealer. The IRS gets their cut and they keep the masses from feeling. The health insurance industry shakes down our employers, adding to the cost of the goods we buy, but who cares as long as you can still get a script for E.D. through Al Gore's Internet?

Speaking of politicians, does anyone else find it ironic that the politicians who tell us abortion should be legal because women have the right to decide what happens to their bodies, are the same politicians who have made prostitution illegal. So much for women's rights huh??

In the news today....

Yesterday was May Day. It was the day the Democrats in congress submitted their bill for surrender to the President. They claim "it's the will of the people", but for the life of me, I can't figure out how the will of the people in the most competitive country in the world would be to surrender to a bunch of camel jockeys?? Anyone... anyone? Nope, that's smoke and mirrors. I bet if someone did a poll that simply stated "Do you want to surrender to Islamic fascists?" the American people might get beyond the politically sponsored infighting, and think for themselves for a minute.

On the CNN website right now they are running a poll, "who is more to blame for the impasse of the Iraq war funding bill, President Bush or Congressional Democrats". Now I know to some people, who to blame is the most important part of life. No one wants to be responsible for their actions, "the buck stops here" is a phrase extinct from this country. For a moment though let's put a little thought into this. The US government has three parts Executive, legislative, and Judicial. Basically, the legislative branch (congress) makes up bills, the president can sign them or veto them. The judicial branch is there to make sure the laws are not unconstitutional. So in this particular case, the Executive branch asked congress for some emergency money to fund the war (which they voted for). In the process it was clear that the President would veto any bill that had a withdraw clause in it. The congressional democrats put together a bill with the money for the war in it, a clause that stated a date of surrender, and 28 BILLION dollars worth of bribes to various representatives to get their vote on the bill. The President veto's the bill like he said he would, and now the media is working as hard as they can to divert our attention (I'll get back to this).

All the major media outlets have their reporters and staff busy pitting one side against the other: "Blame Bush" "Blame the Democrats" when what we should be looking at is how corrupt is our government that when one cause needs $100 billion that it costs $128 billion? I know loan sharks that give better rates than that. Who's paying the bill though? You and me, that's who. If Exxon made $28 billion profit in a couple months the Democrats would subpoena all their executives up to testify and call them on the carpet about gouging the American public. Now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

May day is also the day when we'll start paying taxes to Venezuela. (what?) Ya, on May day four of the major oil companies handed over 60% of their stake in Venezuela to the socialist dictator Chavez. (oh but how does that affect me up here, protected by the government in America?) Well let's go back to business 101, if the cost of doing business goes up, who pays the tab? The consumer, that's you and me in case you were having trouble keeping up with capitalism. That means by the time you cut out the middlemen in this deal, you and me will be paying what amounts to a tax to a Socialist government. Why isn't the American government doing something about it? Good question. Someone should have popped a cap in that guys ass when he was trotting around Harlem a couple years ago bad mouthing America, but no one thought of that because thats the same thing we all do.....

All the while the Mexican invasion is well underway, Los Angeles has fallen. It was all over the news yesterday, the invading criminals from Mexico are flying their flags in American cities all over this country. They are demanding welfare, food stamps, and health care. Guess what, they're getting those benefits already and you're paying the bill. Does the media call them "criminal invaders from Mexico"? Nope, they are "undocumented workers", do you realize that's the equivalent of calling rapists, non-consensual sex partners.

I heard a statistic the other day that more Americans are killed each year by illegal aliens in this country than have died in Iraq. While your elected officials have everyone in a huff over the Iraq funding veto (that they put forward, to get the veto, to stir up the news agencies, to divert your attention away from the war we aren't fighting right here in our own country) they've successfully diverted the American publics' attention away from the burglars sneaking in the back door. The rest of us are too busy watching "American Idol" (put on by a foreign country because no one pays attention) to care what Third world country we'll be ruled by in a couple years.

Did he just say that??
Yes I did.

A post a day...

Where to start? Have you ever had thoughts, ideas and other mental diarrhea that you wanted to let out, but when you start talking to your friends about it they kind of cock their head to the side like a dog does when you say something they don't understand? Well that's me. I'm a manic, depressive, anal retentive, obsessive schizophrenic without the nasty paranoia aftertaste.
The purpose of this blog is simple therapy. I need a way to clean up some of the clutter in my head without freaking out the people who allow me to call them friends. My goal is to cover at least one thing a day, but I'm not the most steady person so if I get a day or two behind, just hang on, it probably means I've been storing things up and am about to explode (remember the manic depressive part in the previous paragraph??).

If you're a vegetarian, democrat, anti-gun, tree hugging, global warming worshiping, tofu farting, hippie, don't get your panties in a wad, I dislike everyone else just as much. If you want to hang out inside my head, either take a shower and put on some deodorant, or stay downwind. I don't want to hear any whining about political correctness, about the less fortunate, or how someone hurt your feelings. Actually I don't want to hear anything about your feelings, I rather know about your thoughts, or at the very least, that you are capable of thinking, because after all, that is the goal, to make you think.

HELLO!!..... hello?.....

At least I didn't have to press 1 for English.

Funny thing I learned on the way in: the "free" blog costs you an hour of your life to sign up for.
